This work visa is for applicants who have a job offer from an accredited employer and the skills or experience required for the position. The work must be at least 30 hours per week and with the visa you can study for up to 3 months in any 12 month period, or undertake any study required as part of your employment. You will also be able to support a partner and/or dependent child on your visa if you meet an income threshold (separate application(s) required).
In some cases, you may also be eligible for a Straight to Residence Visa, or after 2 years in the role a Work to Residence, Highly Paid Residence Visa or Care Workforce Work to Residence Visa.
Hold job offer from an employer accredited with Immigration New Zealand. The employer must provide a link to the application form for the application.
You must meet the qualification and/or work experience requirements that are required for the role which have been approved by Immigration New Zealand.
The role must require a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Roles paid above the median wage ($29.66 as at March 2023) are eligible for a visa of up to 3 years duration, roles below the median wage eligible for a visa of up to 2 years duration.
Must meet health and character requirements for temporary entry visas.
The role offered must be the role approved as part of the "Job Check" process already completed by the Accredited Employer. This ensures there is a shortage of suitable New Zealanders available for the role being offered.
You may require occupational registration if occupational registration is required by law.
