When Immigration New Zealand intend to deport someone they may issue a Deportation Liability Notice (DLN). This notice will detail the grounds on which you may be deported. In some cases, you may have a right to give Immigration New Zealand "Good Reason" not to proceed with deportation. This must be provided within 14 days of the date you receive the Deportation Liability Notice. If Immigration New Zealand agree, they may decide to cancel or suspend your liability for deportation.
You must have received a Deportation Liability Notice
You must be liable for deportation under a section of the Immigration Act 2009 that allows you 14 days to give "Good Reason" to cancel deportation liability (Your DLN will state whether you have this right)
You understand that the decision to suspend of cancel deportation liability is at the "absolute discretion" of the decision-maker
